Sleep on it

You know those days. Nothing you do seems to move your story forward. It just all seems wrong, and you're in a foul mood.

You don't know how to fix your story, and you're getting more and more depressed about.

What to do? Sleep on it. Tomorrow will be better.

Switch to doing something else, or, as some writers like to do, switch to working on another story. This will be time for your subconscious to work out your problem. You can't force it to give you a solution. You have to allow it. Don't piss it off. It'll only make things harder.

Besides, sleep is good for you. Naps are too :)
